Blanc is a classic from Tom Lubbe made from Grenache Gris (70%) & Maccabeu (30%) growing on schist. Fermentation and maturing is in tuns and 500L barrels. This vintage has hints of green olives, citrus and flint stone. Fresh, elegant, herbal, medium-light body.
On our visit to Domaine Matassa we tried a 2013 Blanc and it was superb. We learned from Tom Lubbe that Blanc and Rouge are wines he thinks of to mature in the bottle and to drink after 3-10 years. Saying that, this wine will only get more complex and refined in the years to come.
