100% Carignan from old vines planted in 1900. Like most red wines from Tom Lubbe and Rouge is no exception. The wine is full of energy with a fine nose, more lighter red fruits, some herbs and very little tannin.

On our visit to Domaine Matassa we tried a 2012 Rouge and it was specially delicious and one could tell the age gave the wine an elegance we haven't experience before in younger Rouges. We learned from Tom Lubbe that Blanc and Rouge are wine he thinks of to mature in the bottle and to drink after 5-10 years or later. Saying that, this wine will only get more complex and refined in the years to come.
